Black Bear Cafe in tdermopolis

This is a great cafe in Thermopolis. We have been coming here for some the time and it is consistently good.Black Bear has wonderful pancakes, biscuits and gravy, and other all day breakfast items.Much offered is made from scratch like their famous pies.The cafe is located in a fun section of town with quaint shops.Recommended.

Great small-town diner, it's our favorite breakfast spot when we're in town. The biscuits are fluffy, the gravy is creamy and savory, and the green chili has a great flavor. I'm not sure how their lunch is as I've never ordered anything but breakfast, but if it's as good as their breakfast food you can't go wrong.

friendly atmosphere. friendly staff. decent menu. can't expect too much better in a rural mineral spa town in mid wyoming. good draft beers as well.

When in Thermopolis WY you must have the best breakfast in the world!Wonderful staff and the food is to die for. Large fresh portions.

Small town charm, with cooking like moms! The biscuits an gravy were SOOO good! A side of bacon is 2 pieces, it's great bacon, I'd just suggest 2 sides of bacon😉. Staff is friendly, I'm from WA State, but I promise, every time I come to visit relatives in the area, you will find there.

These guys serve the fastest lunch in town. I have 30 minutes for lunch and get my food in 10. Always friendly, always great tasting! I recommend Black Bear to anyone who as about a place to eat breakfast or lunch.

Excellent food and great customer service!

Great food and really friendly service. We walked in with a large group of 11 and they had us seated and served with no problem. The family that runs the store was very friendly and the cook even checked to make sure we were all satisfied. A wholesome end to a trip in a fun little town. Thanks for the great food! Try the biscuits and gravy they're great!

I really went back and forth on this rating. I want to give it a four star rating, but, being honest, I can't. The staff is great. They are extremely fast and efficient. The place was clean. My food experience, though, was mediocre. I think if I would have had something else, I definitely could rate higher. I had a chicken bacon wrap with fries. It looked good. The tortilla itself was cracked, though. When I picked up the first half of the wrap, more than half the filling fell out of the bottom. It seemed to me that the tortilla was cooked beforehand and then rolled with the meat and veggies. In my opinion, the tortilla should be cooked after it is stuffed and properly rolled and tucked. This keeps the filling inside, but still allows for a crunchy exterior on the wrap. The fries looked homemade and, while decent, were not salted when they came out of the fryer, resulting in a lackluster taste. If I am back up that way, I would love to try the breakfast, which looks phenomenal.

If they are not busy its a decent place to go eat (one of the few options in town) but today it was mildly busy. We were constantly being pestered by flies, the soda tasted old and not very good. I ordered the chicken strips for 9.99 and I got 3 very tiny chicken strips about the size of my key fob. On a good note the mashed potatoes and gravy were very hot and delicious.

Good food, had the crispy chicken wrap with fries. Be sure to try their fry sauce. It was so good on the wrap and the fries. Friendly service and nice decor.

Nice little cafe with good coffee and food. Prices where definitely reasonable and if you want to eat on a budget they have some cheaper food for like $5 most expensive thing I seen was like 13 if I remember right. Good portions sizes I had the burrito with pork and it was awesome it was $10 and had a good healthy portion

The staff and location of this restaurant is great had plenty of outside seating and you step inside the door and you're immediately contacted by someone who says hi how can we help you and they take your order and they're accurate in what they bring you it tastes good G what can I say bad about the bear... Lol

When it comes to unique breakfast, a Buffalo breakfast pate' at this restaurant is recommended. Their home fries are awesome! Their service was consistent and professional. You are a hidden treasure of the town.

Absolutely delicious! I ordered the club sandwich and the cup of minestrone soup, just perfect for lunch. The warm cinnamon roll was to die for, a must order for sure, and such a big roll you can split it and everyone can have a taste. Fast service and friendly staff as well!

Stopped in for a late lunch. The patty melt on rye was very good. Fresh cut fries were excellent. The staff was very nice and helpful.

Amazing food and great service!! Our server, Carol, is very friendly and everything was delicious!!! It is down home and quaint.. I had bleu cheese dressing which is a homemade sauce and it was to die for!!! Highly recommend if you get to Thermopolis!!!

I can get gluten-free food here which is crucial. I like the made-from-scratch home fries which are made from red potatoes. This is a popular place with the locals, and the cafe definitely has a black bear theme and some other amusing, animated decor. It's a good place to go for a casual breakfast and lunch. They offer local newspapers for customers to peruse. They also offer their homemade desserts, but due to my own dietary restraints I won't be able to review those. This place had a kitchen and dining area remodel about a year ago. Just before Mother's Day 2018, I was visited by my nephew and his family. We had breakfast here, and my 17 month old great nephew was presented with crayons and a page to color. He loved it! Their homemade cinnamon rolls are huge, and are the size of a dinner plate.

Weekend getaway, started our two mornings off right by having breakfast here! Meals are generous size and hard to find a better value in Thermopolis! Service was stellar both mornings. Thank you Aly and Carol, you gals are doing a super job!!! We will be back when we come to Thermopolis! Cinnamon Buns as big as your head! The best bacon ever! O.J. by the pint! You gotta check them out, you will not be disappointed!

This is definitely a place to come and eat. Very friendly staff and and you get your food fast. Definitely gotta try the " Giant breastfast burrito " its to die for.

The place is very good it's a hometown cafe with mostly homemade food. I would skip the fruit it is from a can except for the bananas. The hot spring omelette was excellent. Good proportions with fresh toast.Overall very happy I would definitely recommend this place and I will be back for breakfast.
